I didn’t think for one minute Stephanie was going to hire me as the florist for her wedding. She absolutely loves lilies and carnations, and really, really, really wanted these flowers to appear in her wedding bouquet. I have nothing against lilies, (not at all!), however orange and yellow varieties are so delicate and unpredictable, that I would never use them in a design as important as a bridal bouquet. When I told her this, I thought she was going to walk right out of the studio! I was so surprised and delighted when I heard back from her that she was willing to be flexible; and hired me as her florist. There were so many different themes and flowers at this event, but the underlying theme was that of a colorful summer garden.
Stephanie’s bouquet did still have Carnations in it, but also included blooms such as Dahlias, Green Button Mums, Orange Safflower, and one of her other favorites, Gerbera Daisies. The bridesmaids carried bouquets consisting of blue Hydrangea and Yellow Gerbera Daisies, accented with double faced satin ribbon, and pearl pin accents.
Here is our rental birch arch making it’s debut! We adorned this structure with Blue Hydrangea, and yellow Gerbera Daisies.
The chairs lining the aisle contained a wildflower mix consisting of Hybrid Delphinium, Queen Anne’s Lace, Scented Geranium, Gerbera Daisies, and a host of other pretty little blooms and herbs.
We created sunken daisies in graduated cylinders, with floating candles on the top of each one for the centerpieces. Stephanie had the fabulous (and cost effective!) idea of creating table toppers with satin ribbon running in beautiful patterns over each one.
The place card table had one of my most favorite designs yet! We brought in a 5 foot custom vase, filled with raindrop bead accents; then floated loose flowers and small floating candles on top. (I know many of you want us to offer this piece as a rental item, and we are considering it, so stay tuned!)
Overall it was a beautiful summer afternoon, perfect for such a delightfully sweet couple. Congratulations Steven and Stephanie!!!
