I know Chris and Stacey personally, they are actually my neighbors at the Shirt Factory! They are probably one of the most laid back couples I have met with. You may think that is because I have known them for a while, but I get the feeling that they are just that way.
Stacey told me that her bridesmaids dresses were wine colored. The term, “wine” always makes me raise an eyebrow, because “wine” is also described as burgundy, plum, or even a brick tone at times. You name it, there must be hundreds of variations of the shade of “wine”. So I opted to play it safe since we didn’t have an exact match to the dress at the time, and suggested we use all tones of burgundy, plums, and even a little mauve. This was such a beautiful and fresh departure from the traditional fall palette or reds, yellows and oranges.
Stacey’s bouquet consisted of gorgeous “Faith” Roses, blush toned Dendrobium Orchid Florets, velvety Black Bacarra Roses, burgundy toned Smokebush Leaves and Peruvian Lilies, which seemed apropos since Stacey’s maiden name is “Lily”. Love it! I feel lucky even having her in the same building as me, since we all know I try my hardest to surround myself with flower named people.
The bridal party carried bouquets consisting of many of the same flowers, and foliage, but also contained a few “Minerva” Carnations, which are the most extraordinary little flowers! They are literally the same colors as the Black Bacarra Roses and silvery/ mauvy colored Faith Roses (in one bloom!).
