Vintage, rustic, and country chic wedding themes are popping up all over the wedding circuit. We predicted it would be a big trend in 2011 and our clients are proving us right. Already, Heather has received requests for this theme and we are all happy to take on this refreshing twist on typical wedding decor. Take a look at any bridal inspiration website lately (i.e. Style Me Pretty, Brooklyn Bride, etc) and an example will almost always be on their front page. It’s elegant, simple, and extends to all areas, not just the country. Think old barns, white lights, mason jars, milk glass, distressed decor, light colors, and burlap.
Heather is currently working on one design for a country chic themed wedding in late August, for a wonderful couple, Michael and Rebecca; with colors of pale blues, periwinkles, and purples. Also incorporated will be lots of milk glass, burlap, lace-wrapped tea light holders, and upholstered hay bale seats for the guests near the “alter”. This couple’s nuptials will take place at the Warwick Valley Winery, but they didn’t want to go with the typical grapevine and bordeaux theme and color palette theme that you would normally think of when you think of winery weddings.
Here are some of the ideas Heather and Rebecca have been considering for the big day. Along with these flowers and other items, Heather is sourcing Milk Glass compotes and Rebecca plans to have blue and white paper lanterns hanging from the ceiling of the tent. We hope you will all enjoy the beautiful eye candy as much as we do! (Please note, the pictures are not of our own work, just some inspirations, if we have not properly given photo credit please let us know and we will do so immediately.)
We are so looking forward to creating this wedding and hope you will enjoy following along as we get closer to the final planning stages in the months leading up to Michael and Rebecca’s beautiful day! I think it will turn out beautifully. Simplicity is trending right now in weddings, and this theme does the trick without being too minimalist or over the top. Please stay tuned to see how it all comes together in August!
