This was a September wedding, which is always poses the age old question for brides…should summer tones or fall tones be used? Since I was given more artistic license with this wedding than with most, I opted for early fall tones and colors. No matter how many fall weddings I do whether it is early or late, I always try to avoid the “been there done that” red, yellow and orange color scheme. There are so many ways around using traditional fall colors, while still reflecting the season.
The main flowers used were of course Roses and Ranuculas, chocolatey Cymbidium Orchids, orange Mokura Orchids, Scabiosa Pods, Liquid Amber, Asclepsia, Lisianthus, Pin Cushion Proteas, Gomphrena, Curly Willow, several types of berries, Leukadendron, and plenty of others. I really wanted each arrangement to be different, but look uniform when all grouped together.
Amy’s bouquet is still one of my all time favorites! And yes, her bouquet is wrapped in vintage ribbon that I grabbed from my antique-aholic Mom’s supply! I’m still waiting on the pro pics from this one…
