Dylis and Scott were just the sweetest couple to work with! I felt terrible all week when I kept hearing the weather report for their big day-rain, lots of rain. All along Dylis was so looking forward to her outdoor ceremony, high on a hilltop overlooking the Hudson Valley in full fall colors.
My hear sunk as I drove up to the winery when the wind picked up and it began raining. However, as soon as I walked inside I immediately felt better! It was so cozy on such a chilly, rainy day, and it smelled absolutely delicious, with the dinner cooking.
When I walked upstairs to where the ceremony was to take place a very talented guitar player was quietly playing in the corner. It was perfect! Karin, the wedding planner from Cinderella 4 a Day, had supplied luminaries, and I had the task of scattering Mini Sunflowers and preserved fall leaves around them. It made for such an intimate and beautiful setting; especially since the upstairs room at West Park literally makes you feel as though you are wrapped up in the inside of a wine barrel.
As I drove down the hill back to the main road, mist began gathering up around all of the most beautifully colored trees. It was such a beautiful contrast! At that moment I turned on the radio and that Chris Isaak song, “Wicked Game” began playing. It is such a moody song and it fit that setting perfectly! A perfect setting for one of the most perfect couples! I cannot wait to see the pro pics (from Your Day Photo), but here is what I have so far….
