I really loved this wedding for a lot of reasons! Leanna and I have been friends for many years and she and Johnny just make the cutest couple! They have a darling little son and really have a love for 90’s grunge music (think Nirvanna, Garbage, Foo Fighters, Alice in Chains, just to name a few). So when these two told me they were finally tying the knot and wanted kind of a “glam rock” type of theme, I knew I would have my hands full! As a florist who tends to work more in the world of Hudson Valley/Catskill/ vintage/rustic realm, I was so delighted to have an opportunity to work with a different style for a change. So when Leanna began describing black flowers, lace, bling, and black I was psyched to get started. She also really wanted to incorporate Manzanita Trees. Lucky for her, she was able to source these from one of my former clients and now good friend, Jillian. Jillian has been trying to find a suitable home for her Marvelous Manzanitas since her wedding in 2011. We used florals in all shades of dark burgundies, purples, fuschias, and lavenders. Table numbers were replaced by the names of the couple’s favorite bands, and trimmed in black lace. All votives were wrapped in lace or bling accents. It was such a fun day, and unlike any other wedding I have seen to date! Congrats Lee and Johnny, love you to pieces!
