I realize Prom is one of those areas that often gets overlooked when there are so many other milestone events in our students’ lives. However, Prom is a big deal to students; this is the first really exciting formal event in many teens’ lives, and they should have floral designs that fit the occasion!

When I was a young designer working in flower shops, my employers would tell me to get every customer in and out as quickly as possible if they were ordering prom flowers. I was always told that teenagers don’t have any money to spend on flowers, and they take too long deciding what to buy.
But that wasn’t my experience at all!
Prom-going teenagers and their families were great! During my very first week selling prom flowers, I designed a stunning, bejeweled Stephanotis corsage and boutonniere for a teenager who happily paid over $100 with her babysitting money. She knew exactly what she wanted, and she valued it.
While working in these flower shops, I would hear from excited parents telling me about the multiple alterations they had for their daughter’s dresses, or how the tailor had to extend their son’s pant legs because they had an unexpected growth spurt. I would meet with groups of giggly best friends who would proudly show me their dresses with all of their sparkly, hand-beaded details. I would hear about the devastating last-minute breakups and stand-ups, the wallflower who had a glow-up, and the couples who would come into the shop and announce that they were just going as FRIENDS. All of these moments deserve flowers, ribbons, and keepsakes! Prom is a small tradition, but it’s also a meaningful ritual. And for many parents, it’s one of the last little errands we get to be part of before our children step fully into adulthood.

Whether you’re a student or a parent reading this, I would be honored to create something truly special for you. A one-of-a-kind corsage or boutonniere designed just for your look and your moment.
And if traditional pieces aren’t your style, we can think beyond them. Bouquets, hair flowers, floral rings, ankle accents, or something completely unique, something that feels like you.
Wearing flowers for milestone events goes back hundreds of years. They’ve been worn for protection, for beauty, for status, for fragrance, and for confidence. No matter how trends evolve, flowers always find their way into life’s most meaningful moments.
This year feels especially personal for me.
If you are a parent reading this, I’m in your shoes this year. My Matt will be attending his senior prom, and I want to commemorate every single second and final milestone before he goes off to college. My favorite way to do this is by photographing the little things. If you take a look at some of my photos from his junior prom, I created little montages with momentos to mark the occasion.
If that’s something you’d love to do too, I’d be happy to help.
This year, I’ll be hosting a “Moms & Mimosas” brunch on the morning of prom. You can pick up your flowers, take a breath, and photograph all of the beautiful details before the day begins. We’ll also have order forms ready for graduation flowers, bouquets, boutonnieres, and pieces for caps and gowns.
There will be champagne. There will be tissues. Because it’s both “YAY!” and “HOW did it go by so fast?” all at once.
If this season feels a little bittersweet for you, too, you’re not alone.
I would truly love to be a small part of it, helping you create something meaningful, beautiful, and entirely your own.
Flowers may seem like a small detail, but they have a way of holding onto a moment just a little bit longer.
And sometimes, that’s everything.
